<H Shrs>HSI Opens Up 199 Pts on Futures Settlement Day; TENCENT, JD-SW Rise, But NTES-S Sinks 6%

On the futures settlement day, the HSI opened 199 points or 0.8% higher at 26,545. The HSCEI grew 55 points or 0.6% to 9,431. The HSTECH rose 32 points or 0.5% to 6,125.

STANCHART (02888.HK) opened up 1.1%. It is expected to release its quarterly results today. BOC HONG KONG (02388.HK) swelled nearly 0.8%. It reported a 7.5% YoY increase in operating profit before impairment charges for 1-3Q25 and declared a third interim dividend of HK29 cents. BANK OF CHINA (03988.HK) added 0.7%. Its 3Q25 net profit surged 5% YoY. PING AN (02318.HK) advanced 2%. Its 1-3Q25 net profit spiked 11.5% YoY. PRU (02378.HK) edged down 0.7%, even though its new business profit leaped 13% YoY on a constant exchange rate basis.

Among other financial stocks, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) opened rallying 2.9%. HKEX (00388.HK) ticked up 1%. AIA (01299.HK) inched 0.1% higher. Chinese insurer CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK) soared 6%.

NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901.HK) opened down 3.4%. It logged a 2% decrease in its 1FQ net profit but estimated revenue growth of 9-12% for the next quarter.

Regarding other tech stocks, NTES-S (09999.HK) also slid 6% at open. BABA-W (09988.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) ballooned 1.4% and 1.2%. TENCENT (00700.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) shot up 1.9-2.3%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) lost 0.8%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) remained flat at HKD123.9.

The China Passenger Car Association announced an 8% MoM decline in new energy vehicle retail sales for the first 26 days of October. BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) opened 0.8% lower. In contrast, NIO-SW (09866.HK) and XPENG-W (09868.HK) were hyped up 2.8% and 3.3%. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) also jumped 1%.
