PRC 15th FYP Propounds to Fully Implement 'AI+' Initiative, Seize Commanding Heights of AI Industry Applications

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) released its proposal for the 15th Five-Year Plan (FYP) for National Economic and Social Development, Xinhua News Agency reported. Key goals include deepening the development of a digital China, improving the fundamental system for data elements, building an open, shared, and secure national integrated data market, and deepening the development and utilization of data resources. The proposal also aims to promote the deep integration of the real and digital economies, and implement the Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Project; accelerate innovation in digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI); achieve breakthroughs in basic theories and core technologies; and strengthen the efficient supply of computing power, algorithms, and data. The Committee also suggested to comprehensively implement the "AI+" initiative, using AI to lead paradigm shifts in scientific research, fortify the integration of AI with industrial development, cultural development, people's livelihoods, and social governance, seize the commanding heights of AI industry applications, and fully empower all industries.
